A First for Homechoice
Homechoice is celebrating its achievement of being awarded Homepoint Accreditation, the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice.
It is the first organisation in the North East to achieve the award.
The standards are produced by Communities Scotland’s Homepoint which promotes good practice and effective delivery of information and advice.
Homechoice, a partnership of local social housing organisations whose aim is to make it easier for the public to gain access to affordable housing in the Aberdeen area, is delighted with the award as the process of gaining it has improved the service to customers seeking housing options and advice.
Homechoice has a team of qualified Advisers who work in a centrally located Option Shop in George Street, Aberdeen.
The advisers give advice on a whole range of housing options including social and private rented housing and shared ownership. They also signpost customers to other organisations who can help them with other issues they may have such as debt problems.
Jan Yeats, General Manager of Homechoice stated:
"Our Board and staff have always been committed to continually improving the service for customers.
Homechoice will benefit as an organisation from working within the framework of the national Standards, the staff are fully trained and confident when dealing with customers, the customers are given a good quality service and maybe more importantly accurate advice and information and our Stakeholders and funders are assured they are working with an organisation that has quality at the heart of the service it delivers."
She added:
"The requirement for good quality housing information and advice is now more important than ever in light of the current housing market situation as it is becoming more and more difficult for people to access affordable housing in the North East." |
